“ This is a counter-pickup only location, and shares space with a Hispanic convenience store next door. I honestly expected more given the vibes and the rave reviews I've been seeing, but I think it was just decent. We ordered the al pastor and chicken tacos, crispy quesabirria, campechano burrito, and steak quesadilla. There was A LOT of pineapple on the al pastor - to the point where it largely overpowered the flavor of the meat itself. The chicken was nothing to write home about, and the steak quesadilla was also very standard. I'd recommend getting the crispy quesabirria (the consume was very good and we ended up dipping everything else in it too) and the campechano burrito, which was very unique. ”

“ Came to Carmelo's for some night bites whilst hanging with friends and it there was quite the line which can be a good sign - It shows the place is popular, so they must be doing something good, but also you then have to wait if you're hungry. I got the special, what special? Why the Beef birria tacos of course! $12.99 while a bit high, it was slightly cheaper than past couple places I've had the same trio of tacos. It of course came with a nice container of consommé broth for dipping. The tacos were good, but less meaty than what I've had. The guac on top was nice add though, I didn't even have to ask. Carmelo's is a walk-up window, like a notch up from a taco truck, so the presentation was decent. The flaw with Carmelo's is that it's pretty much walk up - take out. There is no place to sit or even place your food down. I had to juggle my plate and consommé while eating carefully. Because it can get so crowded I can see why they'd skip that but it's still kind of a hassle. That all said, Carmelo's is pretty fast, even with a crowd and the food is decent. There is a corner store right next to it if you want a soda or something to go with your food. Just be prepared to grab and go here. ”
